Where’s My Tax Refund?

Taxpayers often have questions about the status of their tax return refund; their refund may have been delayed for one reason or another. The IRS offers a great tool on their website where taxpayers can look up the status of their refund:

https://www.irs.gov/refunds

This tool allows taxpayers to track their refund and usually gives a time frame on when they will be receiving it. The IRS also offers information on what to do if other circumstances arise regarding your refund:

Refund less than expected:

Received a refund but wasn’t expecting one:
https://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc161

Lost refund:

Ever Wonder the Status of Your IRS Tax Refund?

Many of us have filed are tax returns and have been waiting around patiently for that refund, but where is it? The IRS provides an easy way to find out, you will need your social security number, filing status, and the amount of the refund. Just simply go to IRS.gov and click on the “Where’s My Refund” icon on the right hand side and then enter your information. They will inform you if and when your refund was issued or will be issued.
